The Fathers of Divine Mercy  are very happy that you have been led to us.    Our family includes everyone. We are a growing community family, partners with Jesus doing God's work in the world.

Most of us we led  to the Shrine because we were broken in spirit, for various individual reasons, and we found  ourselves wanting to rekindle our spiritual growth.    As members of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic family of churches, The New Catholic Communites in the past, also joined with members of the Eastern Orthodox church, working together for the unity of the eastern  and the western churches.  Metropolitan Nicholas, of recent blessed memory and Archbishop John Joseph Reid, prayed for and were working. for this unity.  And we, as members of The New Catholic Communities  are keeping  Metropolitan Nicholas' dream alive.

We celebrate 6 masses each week .  Call us for times and locations 954-567-1930. You will find the  Shrine  at 2749 NE 10 Ave, Wilton Manors at The Fathers of Divine Mercy residence.      You are are warmly  welcomed  at  our Chapel to participate  with us at Sunday Mass ,10:30 AM. or  at the other masses during the week.

As a part of doing God's work in the world , in addition to ministering to the sick and infirm at 3  assisted living facilities, we go out and  feed the homeless on Thursdays in downtown Fort Lauderdale.   You are encouraged to  join us by helping  prepare food on Wednesday evenings and/or serving  on Thursdays.

WHO ARE WE?
Written by Administrator

Who are the Fathers of Divine and what do they do? The first others ask  us is " Hey, where is your Parish, any way" .  And we would respond "all over the Fort Lauderdale area ".  And.  then we are  asked who our Parishioners  are?.  ,  Our answer is  everyone, you wont find us leaving anybody out.

O.K, but what do those Fathers of Divine Mercy do?  Well, they are out there  working along side of  the people, and  rieght  where the people are.  They are at 3 assisted living facilities bringing Mass to the elderly.. encouraging others to visit the elderly and praying the last rites for those who are ready to go home to God.   They might be sitting beside you at one of the restaurants in the city and just talking and maybe just listening to you, cause there are times we all  need some to listen to us.

They baptize your children, officiate at weddings at locations of your choice and bless your holy unions. Then  they  are at the city council meetings giving invocations and sitting on the executive board of the Central Area Neighborhood Association. They bless your animals and help you grieve at the loss of your pets. There are 3 masses at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, Fathers of Divine Mercy residence. and 3 masses at the assisted living facilities.   You will see them officiating at funerals and memorials services. And, you will find them helping those in 12 step programs.  If you wish to attend mass at the Shrine or the assisted living facilities, call 954-567-1930 for directions .

The Fathers of Divine Mercy make a mean Chile con Carne and bring a hot meal to the homeless every Thursday as well as sandwiches, sodas, fuits and candy.   And they are not ashamed to ask you for some nearly new sneakers and socks to bring to the homeless or some personal wear for a woman who is walking around with holes in her stockings.  We dont ask, we dont push , we just give.

The Fathers of Divine Mercy  go beyond the walls of a church building to where ever they are called or needed.  And they are praying for others to go out with them to do the good deeds of the Lord.    Oh yes, each evening, prayers are said in the Shrine Chapel for those who request it.  You can ask the Fathers to pray for you either in person or on the website.  By the way,  the Fathers of Divine Mercy ask for your blessings  to expand their works and  to pray for them too.

NEWS UPDATE
Written by Fr. John J. Reid

April, 2008.    Three baptisms this past month, one wedding, one memorial service, three last rites, four sick calls , an increase from 20 to 40 in our Feed the Homeless program.  We are up to 160 meals per month now. We thank the many volunteers who are now joining us both with donations and actually feeding  in addition to bringing socks,  shoes,  and clothes for the homeless.  Thanksgiving used to come once a year on Thursday, we now bring Thanksgiving every week on Thursdays.

Four people have come back to God after having been away for a long time as a result of our outreach. They are seeing the love of God in action,.   We are actively seeking priests to join us as our mission expands.    Miracles are happening.  We prayed, along with the residents of one of the assisted living facilities for a woman whose son for many years, in anger, walked away from her.  Just this last week this son appeared , out of nowhere, looking for his mother and the healing is taking place.  There is so much going on, little miracles in all our lives. We are really understanding now the depths of God's love.    We have also been promised a one minute commercial showing the works of the Mission of Divine Mercy.  We are told this is in the works.

We Feed the Homeless.  Father Larry , along with Father John Joseph, every Thursday at Noon, can be found feeding the homeless in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  We need your contributions to help us continue this worthy cause.   You can mail your check to us at Divine Mercy Shrine, 2749 NE 10th Ave., Wilton Manors, Fl. 33334 or use our Pay Pal button on front page.  We also invite you to help us prepare the food and go with us on a Thursday and feed those in need.  Please contact Fr. Larry at 954-567-1930 or visit him at the Shrine, 2749 NE 10 Ave., Wilton Manors, Florida.

Assisted Living Center Masses.  The updated schedule for Masses at the Assisted Living Centers is as follows:  Sunday, 2 PM, Independence Hall, Mondays 10:30 AM Williamsburg Landing, 2:30 PM Manor Pines. You are welcome to attend Mass at all 3  Assisted Living Centers.  The residents love having those outside the center attend Mass with them. Father John Joseph, 954-567-1930 will be happy to give you location directions.

Volunteers needed --Adopt a Grand Parent Program This program is sponsored by the Fathers of Divine Mercy , protectors of  the  Divine Mercy Shrine. The program involves adopting either a grand mother or grand father at one of the assisted living facilities,( where we say weekly Mass). You visit with your chosen grandparent,  talking with them and letting them know that one special person cares for them. Call Father John Joseph 954-567-1930 so he can tell you more about this very rewarding and needed program. Thank you.

Light a Candle is now up and running on this site.  Please visit and light a candle for your intentions. You can also now send Ecards, check the Ecard section.

PLEASE HELP US ...AND YOU DID.   Cheryl Salemme sat down with Father John Joseph and instructed him on how to create an address book and send out email blasts to those we want to reach and stay in contact with.  Thank you Cheryl.  We are now building the address book and many of you will be hearing from us from time to time.

CALLING ALL PRIESTS
Written by Administrator

The Fathers of Divine Mercy,, Bishop John Joseph Reid and Father Lawrence Turner, are  actively reaching out to other priests and/or religious.

Bishop John Joseph and  Father Larry are seeing an increase in our outreach and foresee the day coming when  we  have to move into larger space within the Fort Lauderale/Wilton Manors area to continue with the expansion of our mission.

We invite those priests and/or religious who are no longer active in their priesthood, for whatever reason, to talk with us about growing  the mission of Divine Mercy.  We would like to offer you the opportunity to once again, stand up and reclaim your priesthood within a warm, nurturing and accepting community.    If you are looking for priests who are daily active in their ministry, then come see us.

Please contact us at 954-567-1930 or write us at Residence of Divine Mercy, 2749 N 10 Ave., Wilton Manors, Fl.  33334 .   We would be very happy to hear from you and  have the opportunity talk with you.   Blessings be upon you and the people who wait for you to minister to them, with whatever gifts God has generously given you.

We are looking  forward to talking with you.

Bishop John Joseph Reid and Father Larry Turner.
